Harvest Night marks the first night of the year that wineries harvest their grapes. This year, technology brings San Diegans a live broadcast of the Donnafugata harvest at the Contessa Entellina estate in Sicily – streamed in real time on televisions at East Village’s Toast Enoteca & Cucina.
Visit Toast on August 10 at 3 p.m. for this televised live harvest of Donnafugata’s Chardonnay. Though 3 p.m. in San Diego, it will be midnight on August 11th in Sicily, the exact time at which the harvest season begins!
During this live broadcast, the owners of Donnafugata Winery will explain the harvesting techniques happening on Toast’s large television screens and will answer questions from guests via the winery’s Facebook page. They will also guide guests through a live tasting of Donnafugata’s wines. This tasting is priced at $20.
After the nearly one hour-long live stream of the Donnafugata harvest and wine tasting has ended, Toast Enoteca & Cucina will host a multi-course dinner paired with Donnafugata wines. Dinner is available at $50 per person, or $55 per person for those also partaking in the pre-dinner wine tasting.
