Block 16 No. Union & Spirits, the 10,000 square-foot, multi-level entertainment venue located in downtown’s East Village, has launched a Thursday night live music series. Beginning in
October, weekly concerts will feature national and regional acts in the Country, Southern Rock and Americana genres. Over the coming months the venue will add live music on Sunday nights featuring up-and-coming local acts.
Block No. 16 live music series will debut with a full schedule in October, but the venue will host a special sneak preview tonight, Thursday, September 13, featuring the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, described by Rolling Stone as “pure American heart and soul.” Tickets are available for $10 and can be purchased online or at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Having opened its doors this past July, Block No. 16 has quickly become San Diego’s hottest new nightlife destination. The addition of live music rounds out the venues all-encompassing entertainment offerings and showcases its state-of-the-art audio and visual experience that is unlike anything else in Southern California. This includes a the largest indoor LED screen in Southern California, superior lighting and sound systems, concert-hall acoustics, and parallel mezzanines that give guests a bird’s-eye view of the musical acts on the massive stage below.
Block No. 16 Union & Spirits is located at 344 7th Avenue. In addition to Thursday’s new live music series, Block No. 16 hosts DJs every Friday and Saturday night from 9 a.m. – 2 a.m. and is equipped to host private events, performances, and more.
