Chef/Partner Chris Idso has raised Pacifica Del Mar’s Ocean Bar with a completely revitalized happy hour menu, making this the most significant change the bar has seen in over a decade. The menu now features an eclectic approach to midday fare at half the price, like lobster pretzel sliders ($4.50 during HH) with chilled Maine lobster salad and Old Bay aioli and goat cheese risotto arancini ($3 during HH) with San Marzano sauces and truffle cream. A rotating selection of flat breads like seasonal veggie and honey cured bacon with arugula pesto and a variety of tacos like blackened fish and pulled pork ($2.50 during HH) are part of the lineup as well.
To complement the new bites, Idso has taken great care to create new cocktails utilizing Pacifica’s house made sorbets, fresh produce and herbs. For example, he infuses vodka with ripe blueberries and combines it with freshly squeezed lemonade and thyme in the Blueberry Lemonade Shaker. For Pacifica’s Pear-Ginger Collins, Idso blends pear sorbet with Crater Lake ginger vodka, fresh lemon juice and soda. Featured cocktails are available in addition to the Ocean Bar’s regular drink menu and expertly curated list of over 200 of the world’s finest vodkas.
