Save on Passes and Win 2 Tickets to the 4th Annual San Diego Brew Fest | Taking Over Liberty Station on Saturday, July 12

June 20, 2014

Hey beer lovers! The 4th Annual San Diego Brew Fest returns to Liberty Station's NTC Plaza on Saturday, July 12, from 2-6pm (3-6pm for GA).  Following last year's sold out event, this year's Brew Fest will offer attendees an opportunity to sample offerings from countless local and international breweries, with numerous food truck options, all while rocking out to live music. San Diego is the craft beer capital of the United States, so what better way to celebrate summer than with unlimited beer tastings? In addition to giving you all the juicy details on the event, we're also offering a special savings on tickets and a chance to win 2 General Admission passes (an $80 value) - just enter below and we'll contact the winner by July 10!

We attended the last two installments of the San Diego Brew Fest and have consistently had a grand ole time gallivanting about the lawn, sipping beers from newly birthed breweries and veterans alike, so much so that we generally can be seen mid-afternoon embracing a blissful beer nap under the sun on the sprawling lawn of NTC Promenade.  Organized by Drink Eat Play, this event features tons of breweries. In year's past, lines have been short and offerings plentiful, allowing participants to sample many, many varieties of beer.

Many of San Diego's world class breweries are participating in this year's Brew Fest, including Karl Strauss, Ballast Point, Green Flash, Hess Brewing, Belching Beaver, New English, Ironfire, Hillcrest, Latitude 33, PB Alehouse, Manzanita, Mission Brewery, Prohibition, Groundswell, Saint Archer, Monkey Paw, Rough Draft, Culture Brewing, Acoustic Ales, Iron Fist, Julian Cider, Helms, Aztec, Stumblefoot, Thorn St. Brewery, Off The track, and many, many more.

Admission includes unlimited beer samples (while supplies last or until you're like this guy ->), with food sold separately. Food trucks will be on hand to complement the beer with local participants Two for the Road, Devilicious, Taste of Maine, NY on Rye, Criscito Pizza Truck, Haad Sai Thai Truck, Mastiff Sausage Company and O Truck.

General admission tickets are $40 (3-6pm), VIP tickets are available for $50 (2-6pm).  Both types of admission include unlimited beer tastings, with VIP admission offering an additional hour to imbibe. Tickets can be purchased online, and if still available, at the entrance on the day of the event (additional costs may apply). Use promo code SanDiegoVille to save $5 on passes! Get them fast because this event will certainly sell out. The San Diego Brew Fest’s proceeds benefit Noah’s Bark Pet Rescue, an all volunteer nonprofit whose aim is to rescue dogs from shelters and find permanent homes for rescued pets. Proceeds from the event will go towards funding food, shelter and veterinary bills for rescued pets.

A beer festival isn't a party without music, and this year's bands play homage to Coachella and 90s music.  Thirsty Heroes is a party rock cover band that will play a spectrum of rock music from Mumford & Sons and Led Zeppelin to the Killers and Whitesnake.  Becky Kramer's Brother brings back the 90's covering one hit wonders to bands like Weezer and No Doubt.

Liberty Station can be tricky to navigate, so put  2640 Cushing Road into your GPS and look for the giant American flag.  You can NOT bring pets and you must have ID with you.  Everyone must be 21 or over, including designated drivers, which also means no infants/babies/kids (thank goodness).  VIP admission begins at 2pm, but you may arrive as early as 1:30 to check in, and general admission begins at 3pm (checking in starts at 2:45).  The event is over at 6pm. Parking is free and located just West of the venue at Roosevelt and Cushing.
