The ever-expanding Cohn Restaurant Group's latest venture, OB Warehouse, is set to open to the public on Thursday, August 7, at 4:44pm. Located on Newport Avenue in the heart of Ocean Beach, OB Warehouse will offer global-inspired cuisine sourced from a range of influences. This will be the second Ocean Beach restaurant and 20th dining venue in San Diego County for the Cohn Group. Keep reading to get a inside peek and a first look at the menu and photos of the space.
OB Warehouse was designed by local designer Philippe Beltran (100 Wines, Indigo Grill, BO-beau) who used recycled and re-purposed materials to create the industrial-chic, eclectic 2nd story space that previously housed Portugalia restaurant. The space looks amazing and features such highlights as an Airstream trailer attached to the kitchen, antique signs and fixtures, and 24 beer taps made with old hand tool handles.
The menu at OB Warehouse was created by Cohn Restaurant Group's Chef Amiko Gubbins and includes such standouts as a Banj Mi pork belly flatbread with pickled carrot, daikon, jalapeno and cilantro, as well as Garam masala dusted scallops with jeweled cous cous, pineapple chutney, pickled red onion, and a coriander coulis.
