Parq Nightclub & Restaurant To Open This Fall in the Gaslamp

August 21, 2014

After two years off the market, the legendary 6th and Broadway location in the historic Gaslamp District in San Diego will again have its premier dining and club destination. The brand new Parq Nightclub and Restaurant will open its doors this Fall 2014 to eager fans after having undergone a multi-million dollar gut renovation to the gigantic 40,000 square foot space.

From interior design firm Davis Inc. (of Cake Scottsdale, & Pink Cadillac fame), Parq exquisitely captures this husband/wife duo's famous ability to transform creative vision into physical reality.

"We approached the revamping of On Broadway with the mindset that we wanted to change the entire guest experience from the time they enter the space to when the night is over," explained Davis.

Showing why they've earned a spot on Conde Nast Traveler's hot list, Davis notes that, “Overall, the most exciting part of designing this project was creating two very different spaces with different experiences, that can both work independently but that work together as a whole.”

Guests will enter through two giant, glass roll-up garage doors and make a turn around the custom twelve foot tall biomorphic shaped vertical garden which leads them into the modern park-like atmosphere where you will find a mix of raw, organic elements such as reclaimed wood, custom yucca trees, and various types of greenery.  These natural elements soften the contrasting industrial materials like concrete, aged brick, and metal mesh. The restaurant features high beams that open into the night sky completing that light and airy California feel that enhances the farm-to-table and craft cocktail destination.

Chef Errol Le Blanc
Featuring the food of Chef Errol Le Blanc (formerly at Cafe Sevilla), Parq will focus on new farm-to-table dining that is decidedly progressive American concentrating on great ingredients, great techniques, and perfect presentation - the "simple is more" mindset.  Chef Le Blanc is no stranger to the club dining scene having worked in Vegas at such places as Paris Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay and even working under Joe Romano and Charlie Palmer at the Aureole Las Vegas. Errol is noted for his off-the-wall concepts and creativity, meshing flavors, techniques, and new ingredients, to put a twist on culinary classics while still creating his own. Chef Le Blanc will work closely with mixologists to build a unique craft cocktail menu and pairings for the food as well.

"My mission is to create a dining experience that can be enjoyed by people on more than a special occasion basis, while still offering world class cuisine, flavors and an experience to be remembered, and I am excited to bring that to Parq," said Chef Le Blanc.

When guests feel like wandering on, they take a stroll through a dark & cavernous brick tunnel where chandeliers flicker overhead that transport them into the main nightclub space that features a cluster of various sized acrylic tubes that wrap from the wall overhead to the ceiling above and a custom bottle display with hundreds of individual wood boxes, outlined with LED lighting that frames the main bar. The space will use contrasting textures and colors to entice the senses such as custom patchwork booth upholstery inspired by one of Davis’ vintage jackets, warm walnut wood tones, custom metal tree branch dividers, and an alternating black & white stripe restroom that is sure to leave a lasting impression. The nightclub itself lays claim to a women's makeup lounge, replete with its own bar, where makeup artists stand at the ready to make sure that face is party perfect at all times. For those feeling more sinful, there is a special video confessional, and no party would be complete without the photo booth.

Parq’s General Manager, Louis Pelliccia (formerly of LA’s famed Kress) adds, "We couldn't be more exited to unveil our new space and put San Diego on the map as a nightlife destination." A slice of Vegas club life comes to San Diego with Parq. Replete with expertly designed lighting and special effects, Cirque-esque performances and 3D mapping structure with fabric wrap, you won't want to miss out on anything. And with phone chargers in every booth, you won't have to worry about not being connected.

Come early for dinner, but stay for late night revelry at Parq, located at 615 Broadway. For more information, visit parqsd.com.
