Tin Roof is thrilled to announce the opening of its brand new San Diego location, ideally situated in the heart of downtown’s bustling Gaslamp Quarter. Set in the historic Carriage Works building dating back to 1890, the live music joint provides an inviting and energetic atmosphere for individual musicians and bands of all genres, both on stage and off, and music fans of all generations.
“After exploring the city, we found San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter best matched our company’s vibrant culture,” said Bob Franklin, president and partner of Tin Roof. “We’re very excited to provide a casual, yet high-energy live music option to San Diego’s leading entertainment destination.”
The multi-level, 11,000 square-foot space most recently occupied by Rock Bottom Brewery, includes three full-service bars, a 3,000 square-foot mezzanine level and 25 55-inch flat screen TVs. Localized and unique in design, the playful and colorful interior is filled with an extensive, ever-changing collection of “found” art, providing guests with a relaxed atmosphere from all corners of the building. Each of the three full-service bars are topped with a genuine tin roof, the signature detail of the location. San Diego’s Tin Roof also features a 25-seat outdoor patio where locals and travelers alike can enjoy the city’s enviable weather year round.
Whether a first time visitor or a regular, the Tin Roof ‘crew’ greets and treats every customer with genuine enthusiasm and a friendly demeanor. Tin Roof’s inclusive atmosphere offers nightly drink specials paired with live local and national musical acts on stage every night of the week, giving first-timers and regulars a comfortable and familiar setting to catch live music whenever they stop by. Artists include singers and songwriters spanning multiple genres and styles, both plugged and unplugged. Tin Roof stages across the country have featured the famous, the should-have-been famous and everyone in between.
The brand is known for its nightlife and extensive live music performances, but with Tin Roof’s eclectic menu, music isn’t the only thing guests have to look forward to when they enter the doors. Executive Chef Will Zuchman, previously of award-winning Starr Restaurants, created the brand’s ‘Tenn-Mex’ menu blending the foods and flavors native to Tennessee and neighboring regions with traditional Mexican cuisine. At Tin Roof, Zuchman has developed a inventive, yet approachable menu for lunch and dinner with highlights including the Rodeo Burger, El Jardin Quesadilla and Tin Roof’s signature Chicken ‘N Waffle Nuggets, served with Tennessee’s own Benton’s Bacon.
The one-of-a-kind menu is complemented by a creative beverage menu including Rock the Roof Cocktails, Signature Shots and a substantial beer list, with many local San Diego craft beers available by bottle, can or on draft. The Mule, a popular favorite, also appears on the menu in multiple variations including the Kentucky Thoroughbred with bourbon, bitters, fresh lime and ginger beer. Tin Roof is also known for serving crowd-pleasing shots in the brand’s signature disposable medicine cups.
Tin Roof is located at 401 G Street and is open daily from 11am - 2am. For more information on Tin Roof’s menu, hours of operation and events, visit tinroofbars.com.
