Feeding America San Diego will host its 3rd annual Sunset Soirée gala, presented by board vice chair Gwendolyn Sontheim Meyer, on Saturday, October 11, from 6-10:30pm at the Del Mar Paddock and Turf Club. Distinguished guests and community members are invited to sip handcrafted cocktails, dine under the stars and enjoy a concert by legendary rock band Chicago. The evening will also include a delectable dinner designed by the Del Mar Turf Club’s leading culinary artists to pay tribute to the region’s local farmers with organic, sustainable fare.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Gwendolyn Meyer to host this benefit,” said Jennifer Gilmore, Executive Director of Feeding America San Diego. “We are incredibly grateful to be supported by such an exciting event that allows us to continue our mission of ending hunger in San Diego County.”
This year's Sunset Soirée will kick off with a cocktail reception at 6pm. Dinner and a live auction will take place from 7-9pm and Chicago will perform from 9-10:30pm. Tickets for the Sunset Soirée range from $500 a person to $7,500 for a VIP table of ten and are available for purchase by calling (858) 768-7425 or emailing [email protected]. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit Feeding America San Diego and its critical hunger-relief and nutrition programs.
Currently, more than 450,000 local residents, including 1 in 4 children, are impacted by hunger. Feeding America San Diego is working to meet their immediate needs, while creating long-term impact in the community through a comprehensive approach to hunger-relief.
Hosted at same venue, last year’s sold out gala featured a musical performance by Bonnie Raitt, raising over half a million dollars for Feeding America San Diego.
