The rumors are true - George's at the Cove Executive Chef and partner Trey Foshee and owner George Hauer have plans for an upscale, taco-centric Mexican eatery. The owners of George's are about to get a piece of the taco bubble when Galaxy Taco unveils three blocks from the beach in La Jolla Shores at 2259 Avenida de la Playa as early as Spring 2015. According to Food & Wine Magazine, Foshee will "serve a variety of tacos, from battered fish to carne asada with smoked bone marrow."
Based on California ABC records, Foshee and Hauer are in the process of transferring a full liquor license to the location, which was obtained from downtown's defunct nightclub, Boudoir. If the duo are indeed taking over most of the nearly 8,000 square foot space formerly inhabited by La Jolla Shores Market, you can certainly expect much more than tacos. We'll be sure to let you know when we find out more.
