What could possibly enhance the delicate flavors of authentic French cuisine crafted by Patrick Ponsaty, a world-renowned Master French Chef? How about a south-of-the-border fusion of fresh ingredients and luscious wines carefully selected by one of Baja's top chefs, Ryan Steyn! The lush Valle de Guadalupe is an easy 90-minute drive from San Diego, and a perfect getaway for a special evening celebrating the rich flavors of Baja, dressed up with a touch of French flair! On Saturday July 11, well-known Chef Ryan Steyn of El Jardín is joining with award-winning guest chef Patrick Ponsaty from Bellamy’s to create “A French night in Baja;” a remarkable eight-course dinner paired with elegant wines of the Valle.
Master Chef Patrick Ponsaty has 31 years of culinary experience in kitchens around the world, and is one of only two San Diego chefs to receive the title, “Master French Chef.” Experts in exotic tastes of their respective regions, Chefs Steyn and Ponsaty will transport getaway diners to the “City of Love” with delicate French flavor combinations that’ll have them exclaiming, “Oh lá lá!”
This unique event will take place at one of the Valle’s top al fresco restaurants, El Jardín, starting at 6pm, with each seat costing $85 USD. As part of French tradition, each meal will be complemented by a variety of velvety vinos from celebrated Guadalupe wineries such as Adobe Guadalupe, Vinícola Torres Alegre y Familia, and Madera 5. Live music and the Le Pinche Frances food truck will add the final “je ne sais quoi” to this extravagant al fresco feast under the stars.
