The One Love Movement’s 4th Annual Charity Yoga Event will fill Waterfront Park in downtown San Diego on Saturday, August 8 from 10am to 1pm, with each ticket sold helping to raise awareness for under-privileged women and youth - locally in San Diego and globally in Kenya, Uganda and India. The event will connect more than 500 participants through yoga, the act of giving back and music.
“I was an orphan in Korea, later adopted into a loving family that provided me with love and opportunity, which is why I am so passionate about giving back to kids who may never get the life I get to live,” says Kim Bauman, founder of The One Love Movement. “With the positive feedback and support we’ve had so far we’re thrilled to announce we are now able to expand our reach and charity events into Los Angeles later this fall.”
To date, The One Love Movement has raised and donated an estimated $50,000 to San Diego homeless and under-privileged youth programs and projects in addition to another $25,000 worldwide. All funds raised from this year’s 2015 Charity Yoga Event will benefit a variety of organizations including Outdoor Outreach, San Diego Youth Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters San Diego, Reaching Hand, and Shanti Uganda.
The yoga practice will be held for an hour and 45 minutes on the lawn of Embarcadero’s Waterfront Park. In addition, there will be live music performances by DJ Drez & Marti Nikko, as well as yoga instruction by Taylor Harkness, MacKenzie Miller, Jaysea Devoe, Kim Bauman, Heather Peterson, Britta Rael and Andrew Sealy. Tickets are currently available online for purchase and start at $35.
