It is certain to be a meal for the ages. Baja California's culinary prince and the chef who brought Mexican food to the mainstream are joining forces for an epic dinner to open the 12th annual San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival. On Monday, November 16, thirty lucky diners will get the opportunity to enjoy four courses of modern Mexican cuisine when Chefs Rick Bayless and Javier Plascencia host San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival's Opening Night Feast (plus another secret guest chef - betting it's Chad White and they're waiting on his Top Chef debut before announcing) at Plascenscia’s newest enterprise - Bracero Cocina in San Diego’s historic Little Italy.
The opening night feast will start with a private meet and greet with these two culinary rock stars, featuring specially hand crafted cocktails by Bracero's Christian Siglin, Baja beer from Negra Modelo, and tray passed appetizers created by the chefs. Ticket holders will watch the masters at work from the observation kitchen, then head upstairs for a four-course dinner expertly paired with Valle Guadalupe wines hand selected by Fernando Gaxiola of Baja Wine + Food.
If you are not one of the limited few to snag a seat at the dinner for $250 per person, you still can be one of 50 to join the party in the Festival’s private VIP reception with incredible craft cocktails, Negro Modelo and wines of Valle Guadalupe - ticketed at $100 per person. From ceviche to tostadas, crudo and oysters, Aguachile and street tacos - Bayless and Plascenscia will work their magic for an unforgettable party you may quickly add to your list of best “food” nights ever. Tickets are available online.
