For the sixth year in a row, Cali Comfort Restaurant & Sports Bar is showing its commitment to the community by bringing back the annual Spring Valley Tailgate & BBQ Festival on Sunday, October 18. Taking place from 10am to 5pm, this sizzling community event will take over the streets surrounding locally-loved restaurant as 30 BBQ teams vie against one another in an extreme barbecue competition. Funds raised at this family friendly event, presented by Cali Comfort Restaurant, will benefit important youth sports programs in Spring Valley and Organizations In Training.
"We’re proud of our Spring Valley community, and we really want to showcase our vibrant neighborhood while donating to a great cause,” said Shawn Walchef of Cali Comfort Restaurant & Sports Bar. “Most importantly, the funds raised during the festival will allow access to programs for local youth and the community - programs that encourage personal development and teach responsibility, team work and commitment."
Community pride and an excitement for the Chargers football season will spill into the streets in the form of hot grills sizzling and smoking as barbecue enthusiasts compete in four categories - Trip-Tip, Pork Ribs, Chicken and Best Decorated Tailgate Team. Attendees of the Sixth Annual Spring Valley Tailgate & BBQ Festival will have exclusive access to an abundance of mouth watering barbecue fare (priced at only $2 per sample) as they enjoy games and activities for the family, live music, street vendors, NFL tickets and more. Admission to the event is free.
