Tracy Borkum's
Urban Kitchen Group has announced that the space previously occupied by Fish Public and Kensington Grill before that will be converted into a casual version of her popular CUCINA concepts (CUCINA urbana and CUCINA enoteca).
The space at 4055 Adams Avenue in the Kensington neighborhood of San Diego was operated by Borkum as Kensington Grill for the better part of two decades before it was converted to Fish Public, which closed its business on January 1, 2015. Urban Kitchen Group addressed an email to its subscriber list that stated:
Urban Kitchen Group is excited to announce the upcoming launch of a new concept in the space they’ve operated in Kensington for the last 20 years (most recently Fish Public and previously Kensington Grill). Principal Tracy Borkum and her team are reconceptualizing the 3,500 square-foot venue with a casual take on Urban Kitchen Group's successful CUCINA brand featuring California-inspired Italian cuisine (sans pizza in respect of neighboring restaurant The Haven). Although the restaurant name, menu, and other details are still in the works, the new eatery aims to be a delicious gathering place for the Kensington community and San Diego as a whole. The restaurant is looking forward to an anticipated opening of February 2016.
We will be sure to provide an update when we know more.
