Taking over the 1,600 square-foot space previously occupied by St. Tropez Bakery & Bistro in the historic Spreckels building in downtown San Diego is Tapas & Beers, a Mediterranean-influenced tapas restaurant and beer bar.
Tapas & Beers is operated by Francois Patanchon, who also owns Le Papagayo restaurant in Encinitas, and his business partners Robert Vincent and former-St. Tropez Bakery owner Hamid Mezouari. Expect a menu of small plates, as well as soups, salads, flatbreads, panini, burgers, and larger entrees like paella and prime rib. Behind the bar, the restaurant will serve 20 taps of local brews, a curated wine list and sangrias. Tapas & Beers will offer happy hour daily and do nightly specials like a special paella night on Thursdays, as well as weekend brunch.
Tapas & Beers is located at 926 Broadway Circle in downtown San Diego and is expected to open mid-April 2017.
