On August 1, North Pacific Beach’s Ambrogio15 will celebrate its first year with an over-the-top Milano Pizza Party featuring complimentary bites, bubbly and more. Taking place from 6 to 8pm throughout the restaurant’s modern dining room and breezy new patio, Ambrogio15 will welcome all ages to drop in and enjoy two hours of walk-around and seated mingling with neighbors and foodies while celebrating one of San Diego’s more refined pizzerias.
To compliment their public anniversary celebration, Ambrogio15 will also offer a limited edition Nuvola Focaccia throughout August topped with fontina cheese and porcini mushrooms from the Italian Alps, sausage and shaved truffle from Southern Italy and extra virgin olive oil. Designed to feed two to three people per order, this 15-inch Nuvola Focaccia will be available a la carte or as a a $70 prix fixe pairing with a bottle of rare Sangiovese Riserva, one of Ambrogio15’s biodynamic wines sourced from a consortium of small-scale wine makers in Italy focused on biodiversity, sustainability and natural agriculture.
"We are thrilled to celebrate such a milestone with our friends and everyone that has supported us through this amazing journey," said Giacomo Pizzigoni, co-founder of Ambrogio15. "It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the love and appreciation of our customers and to be part of this beautiful neighborhood, and we will always be grateful for the opportunity that we were given to make the Italian food scene in San Diego more modern and authentic with our unique concept."
Ambrogio15, borne from the minds of Milan-turned-San Diego residents Giacomo Pizzigoni, Andrea Burrone and Luca Salvi, was created to share Milano culture with San Diegans. The restaurant has received positive reviews through its thoughtful fare made with ingredients from small-scale, sustainable producers in Italy including organic Petra flour from Molino Quaglia in Northeast Italy, mozzarella from Consorzio della Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, burrata from Puglia, DOP (controlled destination of origin) cheeses and cold cuts, aged Parma Prosciutto, balsamic vinegar from Modena and more. Furthermore, the restaurant’s modern lighting, dough mixer, oven, pizza counter and coffee cups are products of Italy.
Most recently, Ambrogio15 launched a Saturday and Sunday brunch menu featuring items such as Scrocchiarella Nutella e Banana, a crunchy focaccia bread filled with Nutella and banana, and Mini Calzone Salsiccia e Uovo. Dinner menu favorites include the Pizza Hannibal Lecter, Scrocchiarella Crudo e Burrata and Nuvola Porchetta e Burrata - all baked in a rotating turbo gas-firing oven that handles seven 15'' pizzas at once.
RSVPs to Ambrogio15’s Milano Pizza Party are not required. Complimentary fare and drinks will be available on a limited basis while supplies last. Ambrogio15’s regular dinner menu will also be available for order this evening. Ambrogio15 is open daily at 926 Turquoise Avenue. For more information, visit ambrogio15.com.
