Before San Diego's Modern Times Beer unveils its new restaurant and brewery in downtown Los Angeles dubbed the Dankness Dojo, the burgeoning beer company will showcase some of its vegan menu items right here in San Diego on Wednesday, September 27.
Get the first taste of the plant-based menu that will soon debut at Modern Times first restaurant - the Los Angeles Dankness Dojo - set to open later this year. On Wednesday, September 27, from 3:30-9pm at the Lomaland Fermentorium in Point Loma, the company will be serving favorites from its incoming menu via a food truck in front of the tasting room. Menu items include a double burger with two seared Beyond Meat patties, house-smoked peppered seitan, shallot jam, roasted tomato spread, coconut cheddar and pickles, and the Bahn Mi with 5-spice braised seitan, pickled carrot and daikon, cucumber, jalapeno jam, sambal and scallion mayo and fresh herbs. Modern Times will also be pouring a list of special drafts and bottle pours, as well as an array of limited take-home archive bottles on sale.
San Diego's Modern Times Beer recently announced that it will open a full-scale brewery in Portland, Oregan. The company - which recently announced their goal of becoming California's first employee-owned brewery - currently has numerous projects in the works, including the long-awaited brewpub & coffeehouse in Los Angeles , a gigantic beer playground in downtown Anaheim called 'Leisuretown', and a tasting room in Encinitas named 'The Far West Lounge'. All this is in addition to the company's original brewery and coffee shop in Point Loma, The Lomaland Fermentorium, and North Park's Flavordome tasting room.
Modern Times Lomaland Fermetorium is located at 3725 Greenwood Street in Point Loma. For more information, visit moderntimesbeer.com.
