Fresh Catch Fish Market & Grill, which replaced Osteria Origano at 3650 5th Avenue in Spring 2015, will close for business after today's service. The restaurant has sold and will become Sapore Italian restaurant.
Opened by native Italians Massimo & Elena Borgondo and their partners Lele Luriani and Luisa Archi, Fresh Catch Fish Market & Grill was a restaurant and seafood market that opened in April 2015. Over its two-year tenure, the restaurant has amassed a 4.5 cumulative Yelp rating with nearly 400 reviews.
"We loved this community and we are sad to leave too," said co-owner Elena Borgondo. "A big thanks to all the people who supported us!!"
The Borgondo's are moving back to Europe, so they sold the eatery to Del Mar residents Beverly and Jerome Auerbach and Las Vegas CPA Mark Sherman, who will open an Italian restaurant and seafood market named Sapore in the space. Little information is known about the concept at this time, but visit saporellc.com to learn more.
