Launched in late 2014 at 1429 Island Avenue on the edge of San Diego’s Fault Line Park in the East Village, Halcyon modern coffeehouse/cocktail lounge and Stella Public House wood-fired farm-to-pizza eatery and craft beer taproom shared a 3,000-square-foot standalone space. First opened in downtown Austin, Texas over a decade ago, Stella Public House and Halcyon arrived in San Diego under the guidance of the Austin-based investment group Zebo. The East Village location likely proved a bit more difficult to handle than the company anticipated, as prospective gentrification and growth have been far slower than expected. The space is currently seeking a new restaurant tenant.
Fans of Stella Public House and Halcyon can visit the company's recently opened San Marcos' North City branch at Block C at North City - 250 N City Drive in San Marcos, CA 92078. For more information, visit stellapublichouse.com and halcyoncoffeebar.com.
