Chicken Charlie's FryBQ To Open Rancho Bernardo Location

Chicken Charlie's, San Diego's king of gluttonous fair food, is opening a second location, bringing its fried creations to North County.

From founder Charlie Boghosian, Chicken Charlie's built a cult following over the course of its nearly three decades as an area fair vendor known for its deep fried oddities before opening its first brick-and-mortar eatery, Chicken Charlie’s FryBQ, at 5407 Balboa Avenue, Suite 460, in 2014 in San Diego's Clairemont neighborhood. Pretty soon San Diego's North County will be able to enjoy fair food year round, as a second location of Chicken Charlie's FryBQ will open at 12457 Rancho Bernardo Road in the space that last housed BernardO Restaurant in Rancho Bernardo.

In addition to menu favorites like hot wings, fried chicken & waffles, bacon wrapped shrimp, fried frog legs, and an eclectic array of sandwiches and salads, the new North County location will offer healthier options as well as local craft beer on draft, wine and champagne cocktails. Expect the eatery to unveil by this summer, and of course, catch Chicken Charlie's with a new lineup of over-the-top offerings at this year's San Diego County Fair.
