A Multi-Sensory Art & Culinary Experience Takes Over Downtown San Diego's New IDEA1 Building On Saturday, June 30

June 23, 2018

On Saturday, June 30, from 7-11pm, the new mixed-used IDEA1 building in downtown San Diego will host Sensorium by Vanguard Culture, an immersive event where 15 condo lofts will be transformed into experiential, multi-sensory art experiences themed around the five senses. The Hub, IDEA1’s outdoor collaborative space will come alive with fine cuisine from signature chefs, live musical performances, sensory tents and a networking mixer. More than 75 artists will showcase their diverse work, including everything from visual arts to live dance, fashion, culinary arts, technology, and more.

"IDEA1 is thrilled to partner with Vanguard Culture to support these arts organizations in our collaborative space," said David Malmuth of I.D.E.A. Partners. "This event perfectly aligns with our desire to enrich the community with unique activations that bring together innovation, design, education and arts."

Sensorium by Vanguard Culture is open to the public with tickets priced at $40 for general admission and $20 for creative industry professionals from the visual, performing or culinary arts with a business card at the door. The backstage passes include access to the VIP rooftop with a multi-sensory food and wine experience presented by Baja Wine + Food in partnership with The O Xperience. Proceeds from ticket sales will support Vanguard Culture’s programs that support quality arts journalism, industry mixers, public events, and professional development opportunities to create arts jobs, bring diverse communities together and inspire collaboration among industry professionals from the visual, performing and culinary arts.

"This event encourages exploration of the five senses across all genres of the creative industries," said Vanguard Culture Founder and Executive Director Susanna Peredo Swap. "Thanks to the ingenuity of over 75 artists involved, guests will experience work ranging from the visual arts, to live dance, fashion, culinary arts, technology, and much more. Even more important is that 100 percent of all art sales will go back to the artists, arts organizations, and designers participating in the event."
