The founders of Stuffed! Burgers are bringing their artisan donut shop to downtown San Diego. Frat Boy Donuts will soon install a full-service branch in the East Village, offering an eclectic array of chef-created donut varieties, pastries and coffee creations.
First launched in Pacific Beach in 2017 and soon installing an outpost in Liberty Public Market, Frat Boy Donuts is the product of Alex & Tori Gould of AG Industry Concepts, who began their burgeoning culinary empire with a food truck for the burger-centric Stuffed! concept. Stuffed! eventually went brick-and-mortar with a popular stall in Point Loma's Liberty Public Market before opening a second outpost last year in Pacific Beach adjacent to Frat Boy Donuts.

Frat Boy Donuts will bring its menu of fresh baked donuts to downtown San Diego later this year, launching on the ground floor of the Fahrenheit building in the East Village within the space that last housed Myxologie Juice Bar. Like the flagship PB branch, expect the downtown space to be decorated with comic book-style art installation. With a menu from Executive Pastry Francis Laureano (Bottega Louie, Blue Bridge Hospitality), there will be a large array of yeasted and cake donut varieties, including the newly unveiled bagel donuts and numerous varieties of croissant donuts. Other elaborate and over-the-top variations range from the "Dat Cookie Doe," a bright blue frosted donut topped with raw edible cookie dough and crushed chocolate chip cookies, to the "Ya Bacon Me Crazy," a buttery flaky cronut glazed in caramel and topped with chopped bacon. Chef Laureano also plans to offer seasonal and weekend specials including a selection of vegan cake donuts, as well as breakfast sandwiches and coffee drinks. The eatery is also in the process of applying for a beer and wine license.
Frat Boys Donuts hopes to open at 445 10th Avenue in San Diego's East Village by this Summer. For more information, visit fratboydonuts.com.
