San Diego Born Lolita's Mexican Food Launches Food Truck & Plans Incoming SDSU Location

July 25, 2018

One of San Diego's fastest growing chains for classic Mexican eats, Lolita’s Mexican Food recently added a full service food truck to their growing list of stores and will soon open an outpost in San Diego State University's College Area.

With over 50 years of combined experience in the Mexican food industry, Joaquin and Dolores "Lolita" Farfan opened their first restaurant in Chula Vista in 1984. The family-run restaurant now boasts 6 locations around San Diego. The Farfans believe adding the food truck to the lineup, which rolled out on July 17 for the first time, will help with building brand awareness, give them the ability to provide the same quality of food offsite as they do at each current location, and offer their regulars and fans offsite catering options for any occasion.

"We built our first food truck with very high expectations, the full kitchen and attention to detail in the design will allow us to give our guests the exact same quality of food that we serve at our existing locations" says Juan Farfan, Lolita’s youngest son. “Having our newest location on wheels will give us the opportunity to participate in more offsite events, fresh on site catering and customizable packages for any occasion."

Lolita's has also locked in a space for the company's 7th location, opening just steps from the SDSU campus. Located at 5121 College Avenue, Suite 125, the newest Lolita's aims to open just in time for Spring 2019 semester. This outpost will include some on-campus events (hoping for a taco eating contest to launch the grand opening with sports players, faculty etc.), as well as some other free student events that will take place over the first few weeks of opening.

Lolita's will also be adding a healthy selection of salad options starting this August. For more information about Lolita's Mexican Food, visit lolitasmexicanfood.com.
