Opening next week in the 1,800 square foot space that last housed Pho Royal restaurant in San Diego's North Park is Shrimp Heads, a bar & eatery with a menu centered around Cajun seafood boils.
From Shirley Ng, who operates Uncle John's Cafe in downtown Los Angeles, Shrimp Heads is expected to open as early as January 26. The restaurant will offer a menu of customizable seafood boils, with ingredients including shrimp, crawfish, King crab legs, mussels, clams, snow crab legs, lobster and Dungeness crab - served on a reusable tray for the customer to eat by hand rather than in a bag in an effort to preserve the environment. There will be a variety of sauce choices and other add ons like potatoes, sausage, Brussels sprouts and corn. The menu will also include fried seafood, chicken fingers and many other items, as well as Soku cocktails, bottle beers, Micheladas and a concise wine list. There will also be a vegan version of the boil.
