From husband and wife team Patrick and Victoria Border, Vinya will take over the retail space previously occupied by Beverly's Fabrics & Crafts. Victoria grew up in the hospitality industry within her parents' own restaurants and both her and Patrick are registered yoga teachers and have also completed a wine certification course.
"At Vinya, we believe in uniting the community and creating an experience that encourages people to enjoy life," commented Vinya owner Victoria Border. "Set to become the only permanent space in San Diego to embrace both yoga studio and restaurant/wine bar concepts, Vinya will provide the opportunity for yoga students to come together not only in their practice but also in their social lives. Vinya will operate as a food and drinking establishment with an instructional studio component, serving as a premier meeting space in the city and filling a void in the neighborhood for both a yoga studio and a wine bar."
Vinya aims to become a friendly neighborhood joint, a place where patrons can hang out all day. There will be as many as six non-heated yoga classes each day in a variety of styles and designed to accommodate all levels of yoga practitioners. The wine bar at Vinya will operate as a casual restaurant where patrons order at the bar, and food is delivered to them, with a seating capacity of 130. The full kitchen will serve breakfast all day, small bites, cheese and charcuterie boards, salads, toasted sandwiches, flatbreads, and baked goods. The drink selection will include quality wines, craft beer on tap, kombucha, and non-alcoholic beverages. A boutique of retail products will round out Vinya’s offerings, including retail wine, yoga equipment, essential oils, clothing, books, and gifts. Vinya hopes to open by year's end.
Vinya: vino + vinyasa will sit at 6185 Balboa Avenue in San Diego's Clairemont Mesa neighborhood.
