Popular Korean Hot Dog Chain Chungchun Ssal Crispy Rice Dogs Unveils In Kearny Mesa

Now in its soft opening stage in the Kearny Mesa space last occupied by the short-lived The Churreria Cafe is Chungchun Ssal Crispy Rice Dogs, a Korean hot-dog-on-a-stick chain with more than 300 locations around the world.

From Alex Sung, who also operates San Diego's Onami and 356 Korean BBQ, Chungchun Ssal Crispy Rixe Dog's Convoy Street branch will be the first United States location for the restaurant, which offers a menu based around rice flour batter-dipped hot dogs on a stick. The eatery will offer 8 varieties - including spicy sausage, cheddar wrapped dogs, and squid ink and mozzarella dogs - that will be battered and fried to order, then topped with an eclectic array of toppings and sauces. Chungchun Ssal is currently in its soft opening stage, operating daily from 6-10pm.

Chungchun Ssal Hot Dog is located at 4619 Convoy Street in San Diego's Kearny Mesa. The concept hopes to expand to more locations around the country.
