Orange County's super popular Sancho's Tacos, which recently celebrated its 9th anniversary of the flagship Huntington Beach branch, will soon open a location in San Diego's North County.
Donnie Lancaster opened the original Sancho's Tacos across from the Huntington Beach Pier in 2010 and he now operates additional outposts in Newport Beach, San Clemente, and Laguna Niguel (surviving members of Sublime helped them celebrate their Lonng Beach-sited Grand Opening). The fast-casual Mexican eatery serves a menu of elevated taco shop fare ranging from signature tacos and burritos to nachos, smothered fries, and quesadillas. Sancho's secretive Chubbie/5150 sauce has a cult-like following in the OC.
The San Diego location of Sancho's Taco will soon install in the corner restaurant space last occupied by Aiga Island Grill in the heart of downtown Oceanside. The restaurant will have a 2,400 square-foot dining room with a 410 square-foot patio and is sited two blocks from the beach and pier. In addition to a full menu of Mexican fare, the eatery will also have a beer & wine license.
Sanchos Tacos hopes to open as early as late summer at 400 Mission Avenue in Oceanside. For more information, visit sanchostacos.com and check out the video below.
