San Diego's LOLA 55 To Host One Year Anniversary Taco Fiesta On September 9

It's been one year since LOLA 55 opened its doors in San Diego's East Village and to honor the milestone, the award-winning taqueria has invited six of San Diego's top chefs to help them celebrate on September 9, from 5-9pm, at the 1st Anniversary Fiesta!

In the past twelve months, LOLA 55 has won the hearts of local food lovers and critics alike, even earning the highly coveted Bib Gourmand distinction from California’s Michelin Guide. To commemorate the one year anniversary, the East Village modern taco shop will be hosting their First Anniversary Fiesta featuring dishes prepared by six of San Diego’s finest chefs - all loyal LOLA fans. The chef line-up will include Phil Esteban (Consortium Holdings R&D Chef, Craft & Commerce), Mike Arquines (Mostra Coffee & LAB Dining), Willy Eick (Mission Avenue Bar & Grill), Davin Waite (Wrench & Rodent, Whet Noodle, The Plot), Brad Wise (TRUST, Hundred Proof, Fort Oak) and Gan Suebsarakham (Pop Pie Co, Stella Jean).

Tickets to LOLA's First Anniversary Fiesta are available online for $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the event. Attendees with receive three samples and a special agua fresca. LOLA's bartenders will also be serving their delicious signature margarita and beer specials for $5 each. 

Founded by Tijuana-born Frank Vizcarra, who followed a career as a professional soccer player with gigs as a longtime executive at McDonald's and then as an investor/advisor for Tender Greens, Lola 55 is a family run operation named after Vizcarra's mother that opened in August 2018. With a kitchen helmed by Executive Chef & Partner Andrew "Drew" Bent, the restaurant offers an inspired menu based around woodfired proteins and vegetable tacos constructed with housemade tortillas and ingredients sourced from area farms and purveyors.
