Downtown San Diego's Urban India restaurant shuttered its 4th Avenue location last month, but the popular Indian restaurant will soon reopen in a new space on 5th Avenue in the historic Gaslamp Quarter.
Surinder & Darshan Singh opened Urban India at 1041 4th Avenue in downtown San Diego in 2012, offering a modern Indian menu, a full bar, and an all-you-can eat lunch buffet. Due to issues renewing their lease, the restaurant was forced to close at the end of July but is currently moving its operation to the ground floor space in the 1880-era building that once housed Cafe 21 and Zymology 21.
Urban India hopes to reopen in early September at 750 Fifth Avenue. The restaurant will offer a similar menu to what it has the past 7 years, as well as a full bar and buffet. For more information, visit urbanindiasd.com.
