The team behind North Park's StreetCar Merchants Of Fried Chicken and Suckerfree Southern Plates & Bar in San Diego's Gaslamp is opening a new concept called ShotCaller.
Founded by Ron Suel and RaVae Smith, Streetcar launched in North Park in 2014 and opened a La Jolla location in December 2016 that closed in less than a year. In early 2018, Suel and Smith launched Suckerfree Southern Plates & Bar in the Gaslamp Quarter. Last week, the duo took over the quaint space previously occupied by Wingmii in the Lincoln Park area of San Diego and will open a new restaurant called Shotcaller.
Like StreetCar and Suckerfree, Shotcaller will offer a Southern-inspired menu but with more fusion than the other spots. There will be no liquor license, being the space is rather small and located within a retail plaza. Shotcaller aims to open by year's end at 220 Euclid Avenue, Suite 180, in San Diego's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

"In all honesty, we don’t know what it is yet," explained Ron Suel. "We don’t have a finalized menu but the name is Shotcaller. We are still in R&D and design."
