In addition to a new Dunkin’ Donuts location opening soon in the heart of Hillcrest, new outposts of the country's most prevalent donut shop are set to unveil in downtown San Diego and in the heart of La Jolla Village.
Local franchise group Burton Restaurants LLC plans to develop up to 14 total Dunkin' Donuts (now called just "Dunkin'") locations in San Diego over the coming years. Led by military veteran Tali Burton, the team includes industry veteran Robert Fox and entrepreneur Ryan Redmond. The company currently has locations at Camp Pendleton, Balboa Naval Medical Center, MCAS Miramar, on Rosecrans in Point Loma, Embassy Suites by Hilton San Diego Bay Downtown, at the Naval Exchange Building, in El Cajon, and another in National City, as well as an incoming location opening at 409 Washington Street in Hillcrest by month's end.
Two additional Dunkin' locations are in the works for America's Finest City. There is a branch in the works for 605 C Street in downtown San Diego, which will have a modern design, grab-and-go food options, digital kiosks for ordering, and eight taps devoted to nitro cold brew, tea and other soft drinks. There is also a location opening at 7514 Girard Avenue in La Jolla, which will be the first U.S. branch modeled like the European stores with a more greenery-fueled cafe design.
Founded in 1950, Dunkin' Donuts is one of America's favorite all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods. The company has more than 12,600 restaurants in 46 countries worldwide. Based in Canton, Mass., Dunkin' Donuts is part of the Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: DNKN) family of companies.
