After hosting a wildly successful, sold-out San Diego Bayfest this past June, three former Oysterfest organizers have teamed up to create a music festival at the scenic Embarcadero Marina Park North in downtown San Diego. The inaugural Bahia Fest will take place on Saturday, October 19, from noon to 10pm, offering a fun festival atmosphere and a Latin reggae-based lineup with live performances by Cultura Profética, Rayawana, Alborosie, Somos Uno, Alika, E.N Young and Leilani Wolfgramm. The goal of Bahia Fest is to fill in the gap of a long sought after all-Latin reggae festival line up in San Diego. At the festival, aside from high energy musical performances, attendees will find an array of international food vendors serving tacos, empanadas and lumpia, as well as local bartenders pouring craft beer and cocktails and an assortment of vending booths featuring arts & crafts. "We helped organize Oysterfest for 7 of the 12 years it was in our city and on those years, we were bringing some of the hottest acts in the reggae industry to the Embarcadero," explained Bahia Fest Founding Partner Mikey “Beats” Beltran. "When Oysterfest didn’t come back in 2018, we three organizers, local San Diegans, stepped up and created a legacy festival that San Diego could call it’s own.
