Liberty Station's historic The Loma Club golf course and clubhouse will be taken over next year by the team behind You & Yours Distilling after being managed by San Diego-based Good Time Design (The Blind Burro, Moonshine Flats) over the previous 5 years.
Originally founded in the early 1900s, The Loma Club was first part of the historic San Diego Country Club and has had many names over the last century. The property features a 9-hole golf course, a driving range and a bar & grill that has been managed bay Good Time Design since 2014. With the end of its management lease over Loma Club, Good Time Design has recently secured a lease on the nearby Fireside By The Patio space where it will open a bar and restaurant centered around open-fire cooking.
Starting next month, The Loma Club will be in the hands of Laura Johnson and Lukey Mahoney, Point Loma residents who co-founded East Village's You & Yours Distilling Co. in 2017. You & Yours’ creative director John Levan and Oliver Mahoney will oversee the project on a daily base and intend to overhaul the food and beverage program at the onsite eatery at some point next year, as well as modernize the clubhouse and course.
