Thank Us Later - South Bay Drive-In Theatres Is Still Operating Nightly

March 26, 2020

Are you tired of being cooped up in your home? Are the kids driving you crazy. Although the concessions are closed, San Diego's South Bay Drive In Theatres is still open nightly!

Do you need to get out of the house but want to maintain social distancing and self quarantine? Pick up food from one of the more than 500 area eateries still open for take-out and delivery and head down to San Diego's South County to watch a movie at the South Bay Drive-In Theatres & Swap-Meet. While the concession stand and swap meet are no longer open, the films are still featured nightly.

Opened in 1958, the South Bay Drive-In has three screens and movies currently playing include Disney's Onward, Sonic The Hedgehog, Bloodshot, Fantasy Island, The Invisible Man, and Birds of Prey. Tickets cost $9 for adults and $1 for children 5-9 years of age. Each ticket allows admission for two movies playing on the same screen - one after the other. This means you get to see two movies the price of one. The theater suggests arriving up to one hour before the first show, or if you are planning to see only the 2nd show, about thirty minutes prior to the listed showtime.

South Bay Drive-In is located at 2170 Coronado Avenue on the outskirts of San Diego's Imperial Beach. For more information, including showtimes, visit southbaydrivein.com.
