March 26, 2021The longtime former Café On Park space in Hillcrest has a new tenant in Breakfast & Bubbles, a brunch-focused eatery by day and an oyster and champagne house at night from the hospitality group behind San Diego restaurants like Greystone Steakhouse, Saltwater, and Farmers Bottega.
After a 25 year tenure on Park Boulevard in Hillcrest, Café On Park closed last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The expansive industrial space was recently taken over by San Diego Dining Group, the parent organization behind such area restaurants as Greystone The Steakhouse, Osetra The Fishhouse, Osteria Panevino, Saltwater, Rusticucina, The Butcher's Cut, Fresh Catch Market & Grill, Allegro, and Farmer's Table. The hospitality company, which was founded by Sicilian-born chefs Vincenzo Loverso and longtime partner Alessandro Minutella, is also partnering with former Candelas on the Bay owner Alberto Mestre for its new Breakfast & Bubbles concept.
Although details are limited and still in development, Breakfast & Bubbles will be a brunch-focused restaurant serving a globally-inspired menu with an American, California and Mediterranean influence. The eatery will have a full bar with cocktails, beer, wine, and plenty of Champagne drinks.
Breakfast & Bubbles is expected to open as early as this May at 3831 Park Boulevard in San Diego's Hillcrest community. For updates, follow the incoming restaurant on Instagram.
