From the owners of Tacos El Cabrón in downtown San Diego, El Cabrón will be a Mexican restaurant by day and a nightlife-fueled lounge by evening when it opens this summer in the Gaslamp Quarter.
Mexico City native Jean-Paul Rojo opened the first Tacos El Cabrón taqueria on 4th Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp in 2017. The company now has a Las Vegas location open with a second in the works, as well as an outpost eventually launching in Los Angeles. Rojo also recently took over the downtown San Diego space previously occupied by the short-lived Double Black, exactly one block south of his flagship restaurant, for a new full-service bar and lounge.
El Cabrón will offer an expanded menu of Mexican dishes, including fresh seafood platters, ceviches, and entrees, as well as tacos, burritos, smothered nachos and more. While the business will operate as a restaurant during the day and early evening hours, it aims to be a nightlife destination on the weekends and will offer DJ music and a craft cocktail list.
El Cabrón hopes to open by this August at 534 5th Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. For more information, visit tacoselcabronsd.com.
