A budding food chain with nearly 30 locations, Chick'nCone will soon bring portable chicken and waffles to San Diego's East Village.
Chick'nCone is a Lehigh Valley, PA-based fast-casual chain founded by Jonathan Almanzar and Josh Lanier in 2016. The company now has about 30 restaurants around the United States and United Arab Emirates, with more in development through franchising. The restaurants specializes in fried chicken stuffed in a waffle cones like one may find at an ice cream parlor.
The first San Diego location of Chick'nCone will open in an 1,810 square-foot space only a stone's throw from Petco Park in the East Village. The menu will include the signature "fork-free" chicken & waffles available smothered with sauces like spicy ranch, buffalo blue, mustard-based barbecue sauce, spicy South African Peri Peri sauce, traditional barbecue sauce and "cinna-maple." There will also be chicken sandwiches and tenders available, as well as Cajun fries, corn, mac n' cheese, and a waffle crunch shake.
