A local seafood wholesaler, market and eatery specializing in ahi tuna, Hawaiian Fresh Seafood has taken over the space that last housed Poke 1-2-3 within San Diego's Liberty Station for the opening of the company's second location.
Founded by Poway High alum Frank Porcelli, Hawaiian Fresh Seafood is a seafood distributer and market that operates three longline tuna fishing boats and sells its fresh caught seafood to more than 2,000 customers around the United States. While Porcelli originally opened Hawaiian Fresh Seafood in Honolulu in 2006, the company relocated to San Diego in 2019 and opened its first area market in Sorrento Valley in early 2020.
Hawaiian Fresh Seafood has taken over the unit previously occupied by Poke 1-2-3 within Liberty Station in Point Loma and will soon open a second area market with an onsite eatery. Expect a display case filled with up to a dozen varieties of hand cut poke made daily that customers can purchase by the pound or in a poke bowl atop brown or white rice. The new location will also have a small interior dining areas and an outdoor patio with heat lamps where customers can enjoy beer and wine with their poke. In addition to its new eatery, Hawaiian Fresh Seafood is also rolling out a new food truck. The truck will offer fresh seafood sashimi, sushi and poke.
Hawaiian Fresh Seafood aims to open at some point this September at 2400 Historic Decadur Road, Suite 107, inside Liberty Station in San Diego's Point Loma neighborhood. For more information, visit hawaiianfreshseafood.com.
