Los Angeles-based Main Chick Hot Chicken is gearing up to open a third location in San Diego, this time in North County.
Eric Dela Cruz started Main Chick Hot Chicken restaurant as a night market vendor before launching the first brick-and-mortar location in Los Angeles' West Hollywood in December 2019. The fast-casual chicken chain now has seven locations with more on the way. Similar to Dave's Hot Chicken, Main Chick serves a concise menu of Nashville-style fried chicken at escalating degrees of spiciness. The founders also operated sister mini-chain Oi Asian Fusion, which has a location in San Diego's National City. The first San Diego branch of Main Chick opened in Clairemont Town Square in 2020, with a second branch opening in Linda Vista last year.
San Diego's third Main Chick Hot Chicken eatery will open later this year in the former The Cravory Cookies space within Bressi Ranch Village Center in Carlsbad. Like other locations, the restaurant will serve an expanded menu of Nashville-style fried spicy chicken sandwiches, tenders, and chicken on the bone, as well as a variety of side dishes.
Main Chick Hot Chicken aims to open as early as this spring at 2675 Gateway Rd, Suite 103, in San Diego's North County community of Carlsbad. For more information, visit eatmainchick.com.
