Choi's Korean will bring South Korea comfort foods to San Diego's East Village when it debuts later this year within the Petco Park-adjacent Park 12 complex.
From founders Jason Lee and Jiwoo Choi, Choi's Korean is expected to open in late 2022 within the $400 million Park 12 mixed use community in San Diego's East Village. The concept will join Park 12's other tenants, like Holy Matcha, Orange County-based Mexican eatery Carmelita’s, local cafe company Achilles Coffee Roasters, Australian-based fitness training studio F45, and and the incoming East Village Brewing Company.
Choi's Korean will open within a 4,321 square-foot space with a 1,000 square-foot al fresco patio. Expect a menu featuring authentic Korean dishes like as Korean fried chicken, bibimbap rice bowls, and jeon fried fritters. From the bar, the restaurant will have a dedication to Korean beer and rice wines cocktails featuring soju and makgeolli, a milky, off-white Korean wine that has a sweet and bitter taste.
Choi's Korean hopes to open by year's end at 100 Park Plaza in San Diego's East Village. For more information, follow Choi's on Instagram.
