San Diego's 6-year-old Pure Project Brewing is ready to grand open their new 7,000 square-foot tasting room in North Park.
Jesse Pine and Mat Robar initially hoped to open their craft brewery in the Central America country of Costa Rica, but administrative hurdles forced them to settle on San Diego. With experienced brewmaster Winslow Sawyer on board, the team launched in January 2016 in a 1,625 square-foot space with a 7-barrel brewing system within HG Fenton's Brewery Igniter campus in Miramar. Pure Project has since become known as one of San Diego's leading craft breweries and has tasting rooms in Bankers Hill and Carlsbad Village. Last year, Pure Project took over the nearly 14,000 brewery space in Vista that last housed Iron Fist Brewing and was previously set to become a new brewery from Resident Brewing. That outpost, which opened last summer, now has a full tasting room and serves as company's primary brewing location, although the original Miramar space remains operational.
Today, Pure Project will unveil its newest tasting room in San Diego's North Park. Sited in a former automotive repair shop, the North Park branch offers more than 4,000 square-feet of outdoor drinking space, with a variety of seating options ranging from picnic tables and Adirondack chairs, to swing seats and firepit-adjacent rocking chairs. The onsite bar will offer 20 taps of rotating Pure Project brews, and the space will host local food vendors to satiate the hunger of customers .
Pure Project Brewing's newest tasting room will open today at 11am at at 2867 El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego's North Park community. For more information, visit purebrewing.org and check out the photos below.
