San Diego's prolific Consortium Holdings hospitality group is adding a bar and patio to its 19th-story, rooftop Italian restaurant Seneca Trattoria.
In summer 2021 after more than three years in development, San Diego's hippest hospitality group Consortium Holdings (Morning Glory, Born & Raised) unveiled Seneca Trattoria, a Roman-style bar & restaurant sited on the 19th floor rooftop of downtown's InterContinental Hotel. Throughout its nearly one year in existence, there has been one overwhelming criticism of Seneca - the lack of a bar and patio area to enjoy a drink before and/or after a meal.Consortium Holdings must have taken the customer commentary to heart, because they have taken over a neighboring outdoor open space for the construction of a 1,200 square-foot rooftop bar and patio. Once completed later this year, customers will be able to enjoy Seneca's menu of Italian small plates, fresh made pasta, hand stretched Neapolitan pizza, and entrees cooked on a wood-burning stove from the restaurant's open kitchen, as well as craft cocktails, local beer selections and a concise wine list.
