San Diego's Most Festive Bars & Restaurants To Celebrate The Holidays

December 6, 2022

It's the most wonderful time of the year, so we've listed off San Diego's most festively decorated bars & restaurants for the holiday season.

Whatever holidays you celebrate during December, everyone loves festive decorations and merriment! Below is our list of the top San Diego bars & restaurants for a cheerful holiday decor to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Nolita Hall, Little Italy - You can't be a Grinch at this Little Italy hotspot, as they've outfitted the entire bar with heartwarming holiday happiness. They also have some creative specialty cocktails to warm your soul.

The Friendly, Pacific Beach - Get your NYC-style pizza and Dirty Flat Top burgers with a side of holiday charm. This year, The Friendly brought all the bells and whistles to its newest location and put up every Christmas decorations they could find in PB.

Polite Provisions' Grandma Got Run Over By A T-Rex cocktail.
Polite Provisions, North Park - Always the epic holiday destination, Polite is donning floor-to-ceiling holiday cheer and all the tinsel one could want. They also roll out a Christmas-inspired cocktail menu with beverages served in festive cups.

Hotel Del Coronado, Coronado - It's a SanDiegoVille tradition to visit this historic resort each December. The Del goes all out for the holidays, lighting up the entire property with lights and festive installations. In addition to their oceanfront ice rink, they have beachside igloos for rent and yuletide decorations at every turn. This is San Diego's premier winter wonderland, so don't miss out.

Queenstown Public House, Little Italy - San Diego's annual gingerbread house is back for the holidays. This former home-turned-restaurant makes for the perfect little holiday charmer.

Nason's Beer Hall, Gaslamp Quarter - Located on the base floor of The Pendry Hotel, Nason's has teamed up with San Diego-based Tipsy Elves to outfit the entire bar with ugly Christmas sweaters. Throw on your nastiest holiday sweater and head over for a pint.

The Grass Skirt's Rudolph's Rum Rhapsody.
The Grass Skirt, Pacific Beach - This Polynesian-inspired speakeasy becomes a location of the "Sippin Santa" pop-up concept during December, meaning a tropical holiday-themed cocktails menu is featured along with fun seasonal glassware.

InsideOUT, Hillcrest - This Hillcrest haunt has done it right for the holidays, blending class and winter charm in their top-tier decorations. You’ll find all the holiday festivities of amazing food, craft cocktails, colorful lights and even some snow at insideOUT’s Holiday Oasis Experience.

Craft & Commerce, Little Italy - You'll see the "Demand Less" all lit up from afar, but wait til you get inside. Both C&C and it's onsite speakeasy False Idol have their halls decked out for visitors to cozy up with some cocktails and delicious food.

Waterfront, Little Italy - Fresh off celebrating their 89th anniversary, San Diego's "oldest bar" has all eyes set on the holidays. Lights are dangling, drinks are flowing, and customers are merry.

Hamburger Hut, Encinitas - They already have candy cane stripes as part of their everyday decor, so why not step it up for the holidays! This San Diego burger destination is ready for all you sugarplum fairy's and Christmas elves.

Aero Club Bar, Middletown - We have a longstanding rule that if Aero Club is open and there is a parking spot out front, we'll always stop in for one drink. During December, we just take an Uber, because one is not enough when the Christmas lights are shining and there are over 1,000 whiskeys behind the bar. This place is perfect for a holiday night with friends, new and old.

La Doña, Ocean Beach - In addition to offering some of the most delicious Mexican food in town, OB's La Doña has really outdone itself for the winter season. Good tidings for you, and two birria tacos for me, please.

Corner Drafthouse, Bankers Hill - Cozy up at this neighborhood bar and grill and get ready to get f'n festive! In addition to all the holiday charm one could want, this gastropub also rolls out seasonal food specials and cocktails like an authentic Eggnog and a Peppermint czar.

Til-Two Club, City Heights - This 60-year-old destination for live music and strong drinks is hosting its 2nd annual Hellish Holiday. In addition to holiday decorations, the bar features eight festive cocktails and four non-alcoholic drinks. Their menu is a play on Krampus and the ridiculous this holiday brings out of people.

Barbarella, La Jolla Shores - This longtime La Jolla Shores Italian food destination is ready for a Buon Natale! Both the front of the restaurant and the inside are filled with holiday decorations, making it the perfect location for an intimate dinner or a larger gathering.

Happy Holidays to you all! Thank you for stopping by. We very much appreciate it. As always, if we're missing one of your favorites on this list, please send an email to [email protected].
