The team behind "Cardiff Crack"-fueled Crack Taco Shop will soon turn its attention to Louisiana-style fried chicken with the launch of Hot Chickz in San Diego's Mission Valley.
In 2019, part of the crew behind North County San Diego's popular Seaside Market, which is famous for its "Cardiff Crack" smoked burgundy pepper tri-tip, launched modern taqueria Crack Taco in Mission Valley. Owned by Ron Abbo, his brother Steve, and Pete Najjar, who co-owns Seaside Market, Crack Taco serves a variety of tacos and burritos made with high-quality ingredients and fresh pressed tortillas, as well as offers a list of beer, specialty Micheladas, wine and sangria. A second Crack Taco location is currently being constructed in downtown San Diego's Seaport Village.
Abbo Restaurant Group has secured a space close to its original Crack Taco Shop within Valley Del Rio Shopping Center in Mission Valley to open new concept Hot Chickz, a Louisiana-style, fast-casual hot chicken eatery. Expect a concise menu of fried chicken tenders and sandwiches, as well as sides like mac & cheese, smothered fries and cole slaw.
Hot Chickz is expected to open later this month at 4242 Camino Del Rio North in San Diego's Mission Valley. For more information, follow Hot Chickz on Instagram.
