In 2021, we broke the news that longtime San Diego chef Andrew Bachelier had announced he would be opening a new restaurant in partnership with the most famous skateboarder in the world Tony "Birdman" Hawk. Chef Bachelier was previously integral in the launch of dining destinations Campfire and Jeune et Jolie in Carlsbad before parting ways with the company in summer 2020. Dubbed as a "fast-fine" restaurant and bar concept, Chick & Hawk was originally anticipated to open in San Diego's Encinitas community this past summer, but due to delays, the eatery is now not scheduled to unveil until mid-2023.

Sunday is sold out but have a few left for Saturday. The support from you all is so greatly appreciated! As Chick & Hawk is still incubating and waiting to hatch, we are taking over a temporary location on coast 101 called Manna Leucadia. These to go picnics are just a sneak preview for what’s in store at Manna. A test kitchen that will allow our chefs to have fun creatively and be made whole through their self expression. Hope you guys enjoy!"
Manna Atelier is currently selling a Valentine Tote bag for $195, which includes a curated selection of picnic essentials and goods chosen by Chef Bachelier. Specifically, the tote bag includes artisanal crackers; roasted carrot hummus with chili oil, chives and smoked almond; pickled and organic tinned mussels; an endive salad with Hidden Rose apple, capers, mint and orange vinegar; a ham, burrata, shaved black truffle sandwich with arugula and comté cheese on ciabatta bread; a Deux Cranes dark chocolate and strawberry bar; a Roen Candles Amber Collection Candle , Domaine Brazilier 'Méthode Trad' Sparkling Rosé; Native Poppy dried micro bouquet; Steady State Roasting coffee beans; and a custom 'Manna' Eco-Hemp heavy duty tote bag. Once Manna is up and running, it will serve as a location for chef pop-ups and a test kitchen for area cooks and culinary artisans.
