From the team behind Steamy Piggy, Formoosa, and Flama Llama restaurants comes incoming concept Bok Bok Dok, an Asian-fusion fried chicken eatery opening in San Diego's Point Loma.
In 2017, Franklin Chou-Chan launched dumpling-focused Chinese restaurant Steamy Piggy in the plaza that houses the original Tajima off bustling Convoy Street in San Diego's Kearny Mesa. Last year, Chou-Chan unveiled Formoosa Tawaiianese restaurant in the Kearny Mesa plaza that also houses RakiRaki and O’Brien’s Pub, then launched Flama Llama Latin American eatery, also off Convoy.
Chou-Chan's next project is opening Bok Bok Dok in the space that last housed Embargo Grill/Little Cay OB within Midway Towne Center in Point Loma. The restaurant will offer a menu of Asian-inspired fried chicken wings and sandwiches tossed in a variety of sauces and flavors like soy garlic, sweet & spicy, Thai chili, and Barbokq. There will also be dishes like Kimchi fried rice, a Bulgogi bowl, garlic fried rice, tacos, caramelized plantains, Bulgogi fries, and more, as well as Soju cocktails, beer, and wine.
Bok Bok Dok is anticipated to debut by this fall at 3960 West Point Loma Boulevard in San Diego's Midway District. For more information, visit bokbokdok.com.
