Texas-based Surfing Crab restaurant is bringing its first California location to San Diego, offering a menu of signature Cajun seafood boils and cocktails.
Ming Lin moved from South Carolina to Corpus Christi, TX, in 2019 to open the first Surfing Crab restaurant. The company now has eight locations dotted around Texas, with the first California location opening in San Diego's North County city of Escondido.
Moving into the former Macaroni Grill space at North County Mall, Surfing Crab will offer a menu centered around Cajun seafood served by the pound and covered in a variety of sauces, including the Surfing Special sauce combination of garlic butter, lemon pepper and Cajun seasoning.
Seafood choices will include shrimp, mussels, clam, crawfish, crab lobster are among the choices. Snow crab, Blue crab, Dungeness crab and King Crab Leg. The eatery will also offer hibachi grill dinners with steam or fried rice, mixed vegetables, soup and a salad, as well as appetizers like hush puppies and cheese sticks. The San Diego location will have a full bar with a lengthy list of cocktails, spirits, beer and wine.
Surfing Crab is anticipated to open this summer at 202 East Via Rancho Parkway in San Diego's North County city of Escondido. For more information, visit surfingcrabtx.com.
