San Diego-based natural foods grocer Jimbo’s Naturally is opening a sprawling new grocery store location in Mission Valley.
Founded by Jim "Jimbo" Someck in 1984 with a since-closed location in San Diego's North Park, Jimbo's Naturally specializes in local, organic produce and non-GMO products. The modern grocery currently has four locations with grocery stores sited in Carmel Valley, Carlsbad, Escondido, and 4S Ranch. The company previously had a branch in Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego, but that store shuttered in late 2020 following a two year legal battle with the property's then-owner Stockdale Capital Partners. Someck got his start in the grocery industry at 19 years of age working at Ocean Beach's People's Food Store.
Jimbo's parent company has now leased 25,000 square-feet of property on Civita Boulevard and Qualcomm Way in Mission Valley in what will soon become The Row at Civita. Other tenants signed on at the mixed use development include Cork & Barrel, Hommage Bakery, iNailology Spa & Bar, Poki Bowl, and Pizzo Pizza. Construction on the market is not anticipated to begin until 2025 with an anticipated opening date of late 2026.
Jimbo's Naturally is expected to unveil in the second half of 2026 at 7995 Civita Boulevard in San Diego's Mission Valley. For more information about Jimbo's Naturally, visit jimbos.com.
