Momma Mia Italian Deli & Market will bring fine Italian imports, fresh made sandwiches and Sicilian recipes passed down through generations to San Diego when it opens later this year.
From Giovanni Georgees, who previously operated Gio's Fitness101 in La Mesa, Momma Mia is an incoming Italian deli inspired by the founder's Sicilian mother. The eatery is currently in the process of installing in the space that last housed Grossmont Cleaners in the small retail plaza that also houses a Denny's and Carnitas Uruapan in La Mesa.
Momma Mia will have a full deli component with specialty sandwiches piled high with Italian meats and cheeses. There will also be prepared dishes, desserts and pastries, as well as an upscale market with groceries, beer, wine, and imported Italian products.
Momma Mia Italian Deli & Market is anticipated to open by year's end at 4231 Spring Street in San Diego's East County city of La Mesa.
