In fall 2020, Brett Herring moved from San Francisco to San Diego to open The Shop: Pizza + Cocktails in Rancho Bernardo. Herring had previously honed his craft working at San Francisco's popular deep dish pizza concept Little Star Pizza.
Last month, Brett Herring took over the 1,221 square-foot space that last housed Mr. Moto Pizza Houses's Ocean Beach location for the opening of a new branch of his pizza restaurant concept. Currently in its soft opening phase, expect a menu centered around cornmeal-crusted deep dish pizza, as well as traditional, thin-crust styles, salads, pasta, sandwiches, and more. The space offers a small dining area with mezzanine seating and an outdoor patio. There is also be a selection of beer and a curated wine list, composed of selections from small wineries, all consciously produced (organic, natural, biodynamic, or sustainable), available by the glass, flight or bottle.
The Shop: Pizza + Wine is now hosting limited hours with a grand opening celebration planned for May 20 at 1929 Cable Street in San Diego's Ocean Beach. The first 200 customers will receive one free slice of pizza. For more information, visit theshoppizza.com and check out the menu below.
